Eunice has withdrawn to the roof after supper to get some peace and quiet. Since her mother is a nearly deaf Jew and her husband is a head-strong Greek, conversations can grow rather loud. Although her husband is not saved, Eunice has raised Timothy, their son, with a knowledge of the scriptures and God's work in their lives. Despite their agreement that Jesus is the Messiah, Eunice and her mother can never agree on whether or not Timothy should have been circumcised. Hopefully, Paul's visit will clear up some of the confusion.
