M15 workshops revealed
Kansas City, Missouri
Thursday, December 4, 2014
The USA/Canada Regional Office released details of the Mission 2015 Conference (M15) workshops and presenters to date. All workshops will be held in the Kansas City Convention Center February 10 and 11, 2015, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Nazarene Theological Seminary confirmed two workshop tracks for the event thus far. The theme of the first track is "Holiness and Engagement in the World" with a special focus on immigration and the church's response. These workshops are funded through the Tom Nees Lecture Series on Social Justice, which is an annual event at NTS. Matthew Soerens from World Relief, an evangelical nonprofit that connects churches with local refugees, is one of the featured speakers. Soerens is the author of Welcoming the Stranger, a book that presents a biblical perspective on the complexities surrounding immigration. The second track of workshops, titled "Ministry with Young Adults in a Postmodern Context," will feature NTS graduates working with millennials in Christian formation, evangelism, social engagement, worship, and more, both in the church and in academia.
The region's Multicultural Ministries Office is sponsoring several workshops through ethnic facilitators and other leaders on how to reach local people groups with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Several Spanish language workshops will also be offered. A special workshop will be presented by a World Relief attorney on how local churches or compassionate ministries can be recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals to become an official site offering immigration assistance to their communities.
Evangelism Ministries has confirmed the following workshops:
