Nazarene Theological College-Brisbane announced its students can now apply for MCD University of Divinity Postgraduate Research Awards through a partnership with Catherine Booth College, a college of The Salvation Army in Melbourne, Australia.
Students are linked to qualified supervisors in their field of research either at NTC-Brisbane, Booth College (The Salvation Army, Sydney), Catherine Booth College, or MCD's member colleges. All eligible Australian MCD doctoral students have their tuition fees paid by funds from the Commonwealth Research Training Scheme for a period of three years. MCD also administers external grants and scholarships, including Australian Postgraduate Awards and International Postgraduate Research Scholarships.
Applications for entry to the Master of Theology, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Theology, and Doctor of Philosophy programs are now being accepted for second semester. Enrollment will take place at Catherine Booth College and all initial inquiries should be directed to David McEwan at
dmcewan@ntc.edu.au.
NTC-Brisbane is excited to be part of this new initiative, which continues the college's commitment to excellence in higher education and research in service to the church.
First established by an Act of Parliament in 1910 and formerly known as "Melbourne College of Divinity," last year MCD became the first higher education provider in Australia to be granted specialized university status. It is one of the leading theology research institutions in Australia. In 2010, the Australian Research Council's report on Excellence in Research for Australia ranked MCD at world standard. Information on MCD's research programs can be found at
