"The heritage of Christ-centered excellence in the Church of the Nazarene institutions of higher education is a strong foundation of the denomination," stated Jerry D. Lambert, education commissioner for the International Board of Education (IBOE). "Statistics of increased enrollment tell the story, as more people choose Christian education in their pursuit of a life of distinction and significance grounded in faith-based beliefs." Statistics from the Nazarene colleges, universities, and seminary in Canada and the U.S. show an overall increase in enrollment for the 17th year. According to figures recently released from the International Board of Education, the total headcount enrollment for 2007 was 20,580, an increase of 443 over last year. That number represents 15,285 undergraduate degree-seeking students and 5,295 graduate degree-seeking students. This is the first year the enrollment report was divided into the categories of under-graduate degree-seeking students (full- and part-time), graduate degree-seeking students (full- and part-time), and unclassified non-degree seeking students. In the past, the calculations were done using traditional, non-traditional, and on-line undergraduate and graduate students categories. —IBOE Holiness Today, January/February 2008
