HT: How has being involved in an industry that has mastered the story-telling technique affected you personally? Moore: It has shown me how powerful the media actually is. It has increased my appreciation for high-quality content with good moral values. And it has caused me to admire the people I've met who are committed to developing and producing that kind of content. HT: How can we change our thinking about media and entertainment and their roles in culture without lowering our standards? Moore: Obviously, a lot of entertainment content is in poor taste and highly objectionable, not just to Christians but also to people of other faiths or to those with no religious belief at all. It seems to be getting worse. But isn't that all the more reason for Christians to help develop the better alternatives for which so many people yearn? A great hunger exists for wholesome, edifying content in entertainment. Lowering our standards is not the issue. Raising standards is the issue. Television and film, per se, are not the concern-the quality of their content is the concern. Just complaining is not the answer. Becoming part of the solution is the answer.
