NMI Service to Highlight Convention
Indianapolis
“Come, Church! Hold your banners high. Come from the four corners of the earth."
With this proclamation, and the sound of the shofar, a March of the Nations will begin the Nazarene Missions International (NMI) service on Thursday evening, June 23, at 7:00 p.m. The procession will be led by Louie E. Bustle, World Mission director, with the Christian flag. Following Bustle will be the flags of the 149 world areas in which the Church of the Nazarene is working today, each one carried by a person representing their respective area.
Before the service at 6:30, international music will be provided by the Nazarene Worship Centre Steel Orchestra from Trinidad and Tobago, the Korea District Choir, and the Madalitso Choir from Zambia.
The NMI quadrennial theme for 2005-09, coordinated by Dennis Moore, will be presented during this special service. Nina Gunter, general NMI director, will speak and challenge youth and people of all ages to commit their lives to Jesus Christ. Floor seating will be reserved for the youth.
“The theme presentation is always a highlight of the NMI convention," said Geneva Silvernail, convention coordinator. “Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in this memorable and life-changing event."
