Gunter reports quadrennial highlights
Indianapolis
—“This is our story. This is our song, praising our Savior all the day long." With these words, Nina Gunter, general Nazarene Missions International (NMI) director, began her quadrennial report to the General NMI Convention.
Using “our story" as a theme, Gunter provided NMI highlights in the areas of prayer, mission education, children and youth, and giving. As Gunter gave the following facts about the giving, applause was frequent:
- World Evangelism Fund giving was $176.4 million, an increase of $21.4 million.
- Through the Award of Excellence, more than $5 million was given in overpayment of the World Evangelism Fund.
- The Church of the Nazarene has entered 15 new world areas during this quadrennium.
- Alabaster giving amounted to $13 million, an increase of $540,000.
“I praise the Lord for the generous giving of Nazarenes," Gunter said.
