Golden Honor Roll churches recognized
Indianapolis
Five churches were honored for a half-century of membership on the Stewardship Honor Roll at Thursday afternoon's Nazarene Missions International (NMI) session. Each church reached the 50-year mark for paying all apportionments in full and giving 10 percent for others during the past quadrennium.

Churches honored with the Golden Stewardship Honor Roll included: Dinuba, California-Thomas Mixon, pastor, and Kathy Lickey, NMI president; Elkhart, Kansas-Jimmye Cole, pastor, and Ruth Fowler, NMI president; Peoria, Illinois First-Gary Davey, pastor, and Sue Roper, NMI president; Bradford, Pennsylvania First-Timothy Brown, pastor; Warren, Pennsylvania First-George Hankins, pastor, and Ruth Huck, NMI president.

The honorees' respective district superintendents presented the awards. Presenters included Melvin F. Rich (Central California), Edmond P. Nash (Kansas), Crawford M. Howe (Northwest Illinois), and Stephen W. Dillman (Pittsburgh).

“It's impressive when churches pay all apportionments and give 10 percent for others," said Steve Weber, Stewardship Ministries director, at the presentation. “It's even more impressive to do it for more than 50 years. We honor these churches and their congregations for this outstanding achievement."

The new DVD “Where Does Your Church Dollar Go?" was shown following the ceremony. Weber said 500 copies are available for churches at the Stewardship Ministries area of the Nazarene Financial Services booth. The video (in both English and Spanish) will also be included on the second quarter World Mission Video Magazine, which will be released July 1.
