Iraq scheduled to become church's 150th world area
Indianapolis
General Superintendent Paul G. Cunningham and World Mission Director Louie E. Bustle announced Sunday afternoon that a proposal will go before the General Board to add the country of Iraq as the Church of the Nazarene's 150th world area. The General Board will convene on the matter in February 2006. The motion to add Iraq as an official world area is expected to be carried. This information was greeted with both a standing ovation as well as a heart-thrilling cheer by the more than 20,000 in attendance. Iraqi nationals and a Jordanian pastor were introduced to the applauding audience.
