The trip began May 19 in the mountain village of Llano Alto where the team spent four days building a church and sharing in ministry with the people of the town. Many of the team members were surprised to find the people ministering to them as well.
Leaving the rural village for a larger city, the group ministered to children through a day camp that included playing soccer, making crafts, and sharing the Gospel. For some members of the team it was the first time to share the Gospel one-on-one with another person, and they did it in a language that they did in a different language from their own. They also ministered to children in an orphanage.
The team then returned to work in the town of Tinajitas where, with the help of more than 40 members of the community, they constructed the Buford Fulcher memorial chapel in just two days. Because of the extra help, the team had time to go into a nearby neighborhood and share the Gospel. The team was also present to watch the Church of the Nazarene sign raised and participate in the dedication ceremony.
