Fire ripped through the Kingston, Missouri Church of the Nazarene at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday evening just before worship team members arrived for a scheduled rehearsal. Witnesses claim they heard an explosion at the church before the fire started. No one was at the church at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.
The building was deemed a total loss as just one wall was left standing. The church's co-pastors, Kyle and Jayme Himmelwright, were en route to General Assembly when they learned of the fire and quickly returned to Kingston. The church is located just northeast of Kansas City on the Kansas City district. --NCN News, KC District |
