MK reunion scheduled for General Assembly

The Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) baseball club continued their hot start to the season recently by taking both games of a doubleheader from defending Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) champion Endicott College. Endicott was riding a nine-game win streak at the time and enjoying the best start in the program's 11-year history at 10-3. The 9-2 and 1-0 wins over the Gulls improved ENC's win streak to eight games at the time, raising their record to 11-5.

World Mission-Pastoral Ministries is sponsoring a "Missionary-Kid (MK)" reunion at General Assembly for anyone who has been an MK in the Church of the Nazarene. The event will be held Saturday, June 25 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in Game Works Studio on third floor of Circle Centre Mall in Indianapolis, Indiana.

General Treasurer's Office to sponsor seminars at General Assembly

The General Treasurer's Office is sponsoring two seminars at the upcoming General Assembly. The seminars are scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2005, in the Downtown Indianapolis Marriott Hotel.

George Latter, Jr., vice president for Finance and Administrative Services at Point Loma Nazarene University, will present a seminar entitled "Family Finances 101" at 9:00 A.M., which will provide adults of all ages essential information needed to take control of personal and family finances.

Mark Lail, pastor of the Fishcreek Nazarene Worship Center in Ohio, will present a seminar at 1:00 P.M. focusing on the financial components of the annual pastor's report. This seminar will be particularly helpful to pastors, church treasurers, and finance chairpersons.

Thousands of Nazarenes are gearing up to converge on Indianapolis, Indiana for the 26th General Assembly in June 2005. Hospitality is a welcome element associated with this event. Now, a new opportunity is being announced on the General Secretary's page of the headquarters Web site. According to Gay Leonard, communications consultant working with the General Secretary's office, 'Be My Guest' is an opportunity for Nazarenes to host a Nazarene from another part of the world for a meal during General Assembly. All the details are available at http://nazarene.org/gensec/beMyGuest.html. Persons interested can visit this page to receive information and to fill out and submit a form in order to participate.

24/7 Prayer Plan: New NMI initiative for General Assembly and Conventions

Around-the-clock concerts of prayer will be held for seven days during the General Assembly and Conventions. "The purpose of the 24/7 prayer plan is to intercede for revival in the Church of the Nazarene," said General Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Director Nina Gunter, "and for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all the meetings and events of the General Assembly and Conventions."
