Region holds first Missions Congress |

Nearly 500 Nazarenes from throughout Brazil met July 9 - 12 in Belo Horizonte for 10 workshops on such topics as short-term missions, how to raise funds for missions, and Compassionate Ministries. Special sessions also addressed urban ministries in the "Sertão Brasileiro," Brazil's 10/40 window, a very poor and dry area known for problems with idolatry. |

One hundred and twenty people attended the opening services July 18 - 20, including five couples serving the Brazilian military in Belem. The couples, now involved in the new church plant, were previously members of churches in Rio de Janeiro, 2000 miles to the south. |

Maddix, who is a Professor of Christian Education at NNU, held the classes July 6 - 20 for 204 participants. The classes emphasized such points as planning a curriculum, making learning interactive, and teaching at the developmental level of the student. |

NNU group helps build two churches, ministers to many |

The trip began May 19 in the mountain village of Llano Alto where the team spent four days building a church and sharing in ministry with the people of the town. Many of the team members were surprised to find the people ministering to them as well. |

"TOBIAS for Kids" series connecting a new generation |

Currently in production, the "TOBIAS for Kids" videos will follow the same discipleship plan as the adult version, but will utilize animation to adapt the themes of testimony, prayer, Bible, church, worship, and holiness to the younger audience. |
