NCM seeks program officer for Haiti Water Project

Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is seeking a program officer for the Haiti Water Project.

The Haiti Water Project, a Nazarene Compassionate Ministries program, aims to serve communities that do not have access to safe water by implementing a comprehensive WASH program (water, sanitation, and hygiene). The Haiti Water Project works through local churches, equipping them to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people around them. To date, the Haiti Water Project has installed more than 70 wells and cisterns at local churches and installed 400 clean-water filters in 120 church-run schools.

The program officer will be responsible for supporting the WASH team through project management, supervision, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The person in this position will also support the team in community mobilization, needs assessments, baseline studies, and proposal development.

The opportunity is a 12-month volunteer position with an expected start date of summer 2015. The position is based in a suburb of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and housing is provided.

Qualified candidates will possess strong organizational skills, flexibility, and have the ability to build relationships. Applicants should have a degree in environmental health, environmental engineering, water engineering, or other relevant fields. Candidates should also demonstrate a mature Christian faith and share a passion for serving vulnerable communities through church-based community development.
